About the Event
Pack 23 will be participating in the Harwinton Flag Retirement Ceremony on Saturday, June 13th at 1:00 p.m. It will take place at the fire pit--up on the right shortly after entering Bentley Drive in Harwinton. You should plan on arriving early and parking in the Town Hall lot and then walking back, as a large contingent of cars would not be allowed to park on the street.
Our Cub Scouts will be leading the Pledge of Allegiance, singing God Bless America, and presenting worn and tattered American flags to the firefighters so that the Starts and Stripes can be retired in a proper and dignified manner. When no longer fit to serve, Old Glory is burned so that its ashes may rise up to the heavens and float back down to American soil to protect us and the country we love.
